Zion Century

A couple of weeks ago we went to St. George where Ben was riding in the Zion Century. For anyone who doesn't know, a Century is a 100 mile bike ride!

This was the day of the race. It started out such a beautiful day! Too bad the last 2 hours of the ride would be pouring rain!

Here's Ben ready to Start! We had some pedal problems though. His new bike shoes came with the wrong clips so they wouldn't fit the pedals. Of course we noticed this the night before the ride. All the bike shops were already closed for the day so we had to go to Walmart and buy some old school pedals. Ben did awesome even though this made it tougher.
He rode with a guy from our ward so that was nice they were able to keep each other company.
Off to start the ride! I wasn't able to get any other pictures because I couldn't exactly drive along side him. He came back in all wet and freezing from the rain, but did amazing! I'm so proud of my tough husband!
While Ben was out riding, Ky and I got to go to see The Princess and the Frog with my sister Michelle and her kids. It was SO cute and Ky loved dancing to the music. She saw this giant Horton in the lobby and was so excited. She kept making elephant noises whenever she saw it, but got shy when we went up close and wouldn't touch him.

The next day we woke up to beautiful weather for our drive home.

We packed everything up and headed out.
Ben was tired.

Kylee was tired.

And I got to take some beautiful pictures of the snow covered mountains and red rock.

Headed into a cloud!

Bear Lake Classic

This summer we went to good old Garden City for the annual Bear Lake Classic Triathlon.

Once we got there I got right to setting up camp. Well, putting stuff in the tent at least.

Ky sitting back directing where things should go.
Once everything was done we went on out on the lake for a little boat ride.
Ky loved being on the boat . There was just so much to look at!
Uncle Austin even let Ky sit on his bulletbike. That look on her face is trouble!

Race Day!

Ben getting in the zone and ready for the swim. Go #3135!

Done with the swim and headed up the beach to the transition area.

Starting the bike portion. Um, I think that bike might be a little too small. He's gonna get a workout, especially since it's a mountain bike!

Done biking, now on to the run!

The finishers! Nice job guys!

Looks like someone is ready to be a little triathlete! Like Daddy like Daughter!

Run for Reading

Kaysville City Rotary Club held their annual July 4th Run for Reading 10k to kick off the festivities that day.

We started at the Davis High track.

Me and my little running partner.

Not too far from the finish!

Ky just kickin' back enjoying the ride. She even got in a pretty good nap. Her new jogging stroller must be pretty comfy.

Crossing the finish line!

I'm An Iron Girl!

For my first Mother's Day I decided it would be fun to spend it at the beautiful Lowe's resort at Lake Las Vegas. We just had to squeeze in my first triathlon while we were there too!

Ky's first road trip! She did SO good the whole time in the car.

She even talked Ben into letting her drive when he got tired.

The Lowe's Lake Las Vegas Resort!
That night we went swimming at the resort. Ky even loved being in the water for the first time.

She's a natural!

Swimmin' with Dad.

Race Day!

Here's the swim start on the beach. It was SO beautiful and the weather was perfect!

Into the lake!!

Just Keep Swimming! Just Keep Swimming!

Done swimming and on to the bike!

I have to say the bike was my favorite part. The course was so pretty!

Comin' down the home stretch!

My first triathlon medal!

Ky was pretty pooped after our fun fulled weekend and took a few naps on the way home.

This Time Goin' Solo

This was Ben's second year doing the XTERRA race, but this time he did it all by himself. I thought about it earlier in the year, but quickly changed my mind when I realized I couldn't race with a bun in the oven!

He's in here somewhere among the sea of swimmers!

Comin' up out of the water to get on his biking gear.

Headed off to ride the mountain trails. Go #801!

Parking his bike and getting on his running shoes.

He did it again!

Now that the race is done, time to relax!
